since it was learned that ray franz went to the hospital and then passed away, most threads have in my opinion, correctly tried to give some honor and respect to a courageous, honest, and principled man.. some borderline trolls, who know many former jw's are easily upset (and they know this.

i know this...) try to take advantage by hitting on a hot button.

in this case, its to call you a follower of ray franz.. we all know that isn't true.. but i think that a legitimate discussion on this is in order.

I've refrained from commenting on Ray Franz. Yes, I enjoyed his book and appreciated his experiences, but I think he would not be comfortable with people making a big deal about him. As such, I am making a conscious choice to honor what I believe his wishes to be.

I wish his wife and family peace.

Did you buy it intending to get drunk, or were you going to have "just one?" I'm just trying to get a basis of what happened--analyzing it will help you avoid the same circumstance in the future. Self pity is a self feeding, destructive emotion. Determine what you can change, then move onward and upward. Congratulate yourself for being sober a year. I'm sure that took effort, and you've probably learned some things that helped.
